Abstract: This thesis represents production and characterization of highly filled polymer composites based on recycled plastics and sand as a filler. Composites produced on polyolefin (polyethylene PE and linear low density polyethylene LLDPE) and polyester PET were compared. Different modification techniques, including filler surface treatment, compatibilizer introduction and polymer blend formation were. Influence of the composition on the composite mechanical properties. Newly developed composite based on PET – polycarbonate (PC) blend demonstrates improved mechanical properties and high thermal stability compared to polyolefin based composites.
